Data Protection

1. General information

The following notes provide a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data with which you can be personally identified. Detailed information on the subject of data protection can be found in our privacy policy set out below this text.

This website is a static site without its own backend and without user accounts. No automated profiling takes place. Personal data is collected primarily when you contact us via the contact form or the order form, and, subject to your consent, in connection with reach measurement and when loading the map section.

Data collection on this website

What rights do you have regarding your data?

You have the right to obtain information about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data free of charge at any time. You also have the right to request the correction or deletion of this data. If you have given consent to data processing, you can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future. In addition, under certain circumstances you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

You can contact us at any time regarding this and other questions on the subject of data protection.

Who is responsible for data collection on this website?

Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. You can find their contact details in the section “Information on the controller” in this privacy policy.

How do we collect your data?

On the one hand, your data is collected because you provide it to us. This may, for example, be data that you enter in a contact form or in an order form for legal products.

Other data is collected automatically or after your consent when you visit the website. This is primarily technical data (e.g. internet browser, operating system or time of the page view, recorded by our host in server log files). Analysis data (reach measurement) is collected exclusively after your consent via the cookie banner.

What do we use your data for?

Some of the data is collected in order to ensure the website is provided without errors. After your consent, further data can be used to analyse your user behaviour (reach measurement).

2. Hosting

We host the content of our website with the following provider:

Strato

The provider is Strato AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin (hereinafter “Strato”). When you visit our website, Strato records various log files including your IP addresses.

For more information, please refer to Strato’s privacy policy: https://www.strato.de/datenschutz/ .

Strato is used on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO. We have a legitimate interest in presenting our website as reliably as possible. Where corresponding consent has been requested, processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO and § 25 Abs. 1 TDDDG, insofar as the consent covers the storage of cookies or access to information in the user’s terminal device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TDDDG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

Data processing on behalf of the controller

We have concluded a data processing agreement (AVV) for the use of the above-mentioned service. This is a contract required under data protection law, which ensures that this provider processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the DSGVO.

3. General information and mandatory information
Data protection

The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

When you use this website, various items of personal data are collected. Personal data is data with which you can be personally identified. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and what we use it for. It also explains how and for what purpose this is done.

We point out that data transmission over the internet (e.g. when communicating by email) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

Information on the controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

Rechtsanwältin Souriana Iskandar

Kaiserstraße 44
63067 Offenbach am Main
Deutschland

The controller is the natural or legal person who, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data (e.g. names, email addresses or the like).

Storage period

Unless a more specific storage period has been stated within this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for the data processing no longer applies. If you assert a justified request for deletion or revoke consent to data processing, your data will be deleted, unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. retention periods under tax or commercial law); in the latter case, deletion takes place once these reasons no longer apply.

General information on the legal bases for data processing on this website

Insofar as you have consented to data processing, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO or Art. 9 Abs. 2 lit. a DSGVO, where special categories of data pursuant to Art. 9 Abs. 1 DSGVO are processed. In the case of express consent to the transfer of personal data to third countries, data processing additionally takes place on the basis of Art. 49 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO. Insofar as you have consented to the storage of cookies or to access to information in your terminal device (e.g. via device fingerprinting), the data processing additionally takes place on the basis of § 25 Abs. 1 TDDDG. Consent can be revoked at any time. Where your data is required for the performance of a contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO. Furthermore, we process your data, insofar as it is necessary to fulfil a legal obligation, on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. c DSGVO. Data processing may also take place on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO. Information on the legal bases relevant in each individual case is provided in the following paragraphs of this privacy policy.

Information on data transfer to the USA and other third countries

Among other things, we use tools from companies based in the USA (Google). When these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to the USA and processed there. For the USA there is an adequacy decision of the EU Commission in the form of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the US providers we use may be certified under it. Regardless of this, we point out that a level of data protection comparable to that of the EU cannot be guaranteed in third countries, and that US authorities may under certain circumstances gain access to data processed there. The transfer to the USA takes place only after your consent (Art. 49 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO); we have no influence over the further processing by these providers.

Recipients of personal data

In the course of our business activities, we cooperate with various external bodies. In some cases, this also requires the transfer of personal data to these external bodies. We only pass on personal data to external bodies where this is necessary within the framework of the performance of a contract, where we are legally obliged to do so (e.g. passing on data to tax authorities), where we have a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO in passing it on, or where another legal basis permits the transfer of the data. When using processors, we pass on personal data of our customers only on the basis of a valid data processing agreement. In the case of joint processing, a joint processing agreement is concluded.

Revocation of your consent to data processing

Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can revoke consent you have already given at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out up to the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Right to object to data collection in special cases and to direct advertising (Art. 21 DSGVO)

IF DATA PROCESSING IS CARRIED OUT ON THE BASIS OF ART. 6 ABS. 1 LIT. E ODER F DSGVO, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME TO OBJECT, ON GROUNDS ARISING FROM YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION, TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. YOU CAN FIND THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR AFFECTED PERSONAL DATA, UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENCE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION PURSUANT TO ART. 21 ABS. 1 DSGVO).

IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT ADVERTISING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUCH ADVERTISING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING INSOFAR AS IT IS CONNECTED WITH SUCH DIRECT ADVERTISING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL SUBSEQUENTLY NO LONGER BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT ADVERTISING (OBJECTION PURSUANT TO ART. 21 ABS. 2 DSGVO).

Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority

In the event of breaches of the DSGVO, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of their habitual residence, their place of work or the place of the alleged breach. This right to lodge a complaint exists without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy.

Right to data portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. Where you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.

Information, correction and deletion

Within the framework of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, where applicable, a right to correction or deletion of this data. You can contact us at any time regarding this and other questions on the subject of personal data.

Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us at any time for this purpose. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:

  • If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the review, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
  • If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of deletion.
  • If we no longer need your personal data but you need it to exercise, defend or assert legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of deletion.
  • If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21 Abs. 1 DSGVO, a balancing of your interests and ours must be carried out. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data may, apart from its storage, only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person, or for reasons of an important public interest of the European Union or a member state.

SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser’s address line changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

When SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Objection to advertising emails

We hereby object to the use of contact data published within the framework of the imprint obligation for the purpose of sending advertising and information material that has not been expressly requested. The operators of the pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, for example by spam emails.

4. Data collection on this website
Cookies and comparable technologies

Our website uses cookies and comparable storage technologies (e.g. your browser’s local storage, “Local Storage”). Cookies are small data packets and do not cause any damage to your terminal device. They are stored either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies) and may originate from us (first party) or from third parties (third party).

We use technically necessary or functional storage technologies on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO or § 25 Abs. 2 TDDDG without separate consent. All non-necessary technologies (in particular for reach measurement) are only set after your consent via our cookie banner (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO and § 25 Abs. 1 TDDDG). Before consent is given, the Google Consent Mode v2 is configured so that all categories requiring consent are set to “denied”; no analysis or advertising cookies are therefore set as long as you do not agree. Your consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future (e.g. via the cookie banner).

Specifically, we use the following cookies or storage technologies:

  • kanzlei-color-mode (Local Storage, first party, technically necessary): stores your choice between a light and a dark design. No transfer to third parties, no tracking.
  • Usercentrics (Consent-Management) (Local Storage/cookie, first party, technically necessary): stores the consent decision you made in the cookie banner so that it can be taken into account on further visits.
  • Google Analytics (e.g. _ga, _ga_*, third party, term of up to 2 years): serve reach measurement and are set exclusively after your consent (for more details, see “Google Analytics 4”).

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies, allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when the browser is closed. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.

Consent management with Usercentrics

We use the consent management tool Usercentrics in order to obtain, manage and document your consent to the storage of certain cookies and to data processing. The provider is Usercentrics GmbH, Sendlinger Straße 7, 80331 München. When you access our website, a cookie banner is displayed to you; your choice (consent or refusal) is stored and taken into account on subsequent visits. The script is loaded in a delayed manner and on the client side. Processing takes place on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO (legitimate interest in legally compliant consent) or Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO and § 25 Abs. 1 TDDDG, insofar as consent has been given; consent can be revoked at any time. Further information can be found in the privacy policy of Usercentrics: usercentrics.com/datenschutzerklaerung .

Server log files

The provider of the pages (our host Strato) automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources. The collection of this data takes place on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and the optimisation of its website; for this purpose, the server log files must be collected.

Contact form

If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact data you provide there (first name, surname, email address, telephone number, subject, message), will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

The technical handling of the contact form is carried out via the Form.taxi service. Your form data is transmitted to Form.taxi and forwarded from there to us. Form.taxi processes the data on our behalf and according to our instructions. Further information on data processing by Form.taxi can be found in their privacy policy: https://form.taxi/de/datenschutz .

This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO, insofar as your enquiry is connected with the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of the enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO) or on your consent (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO), which you give by activating the mandatory checkbox in the form; consent can be revoked at any time.

The data you enter in the contact form remains with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been dealt with). Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular retention periods, remain unaffected.

Ordering legal products

If, via our website under Legal products you order a legal product (e.g. an employment contract, advice on separation and divorce), your order is technically sent to us as an email (mailto) via your own email program. No transmission to a server of this website takes place; the data you provide (e.g. name, address, email address, telephone number, company where applicable, chosen payment method, additional message) is transmitted via your email provider and processed by us for the purpose of performing the contract and pre-contractual measures (acceptance of the order, communication regarding the further procedure).

The legal basis is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO. The data remains with us until the contract has been processed and statutory retention periods (e.g. under tax and commercial law) have expired. Payment (e.g. advance payment) is made as communicated after acceptance of the order. Your order data is only passed on to third parties insofar as this is necessary for the performance of the contract or required by law.

Enquiry by email, telephone or fax

If you contact us by email, telephone or fax, your enquiry, including all personal data arising from it (name, enquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of dealing with your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO), insofar as this was requested; consent can be revoked at any time.

The data you send us via contact enquiries remains with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been dealt with). Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular statutory retention periods, remain unaffected.

5. Analysis tools
Google Tag Manager

We use the Google Tag Manager. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Irland.

The Google Tag Manager is a tool with the help of which we can integrate tracking or statistics tools and other technologies on our website. The Google Tag Manager itself does not create user profiles, does not store cookies and does not carry out any independent analyses. It merely serves to manage and deliver the tools integrated via it (in our case: Google Analytics 4). However, the Google Tag Manager records your IP address, which may also be transferred to Google’s parent company in the USA. The script is loaded in a delayed manner and on the client side.

The Google Consent Mode v2 ensures that integrated tools do not set any cookies requiring consent before consent has been given. Use only takes place after your consent on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO and § 25 Abs. 1 TDDDG; consent can be revoked at any time.

Google Analytics 4

After your consent and integrated via the Google Tag Manager, this website uses the web analysis service Google Analytics 4. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Irland.

Google Analytics enables us to analyse the behaviour of website visitors (reach measurement). In doing so, we evaluate, among other things, page views and usage behaviour in aggregated form. For this purpose, Google Analytics uses cookies (e.g. _ga, _ga_*) or comparable recognition technologies. The information generated by the cookies about your use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. IP addresses are processed in an anonymised form by default in Google Analytics 4.

The use of Google Analytics takes place exclusively on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO and § 25 Abs. 1 TDDDG. Consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future by changing your selection in the cookie banner. The data transfer to the USA is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Further information on the handling of user data at Google Analytics can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de .

6. Fonts and icons
Fonts (locally hosted)

To ensure a consistent display of texts, we use several fonts: Newsreader (headings), Source Sans 3 (body text) as well as Noto Kufi Arabic and Noto Naskh Arabic (for Arabic content). These fonts are provided entirely locally on our server (at our host Strato). When the page is loaded, no connection to external font providers (e.g. Google Fonts) is established; no data is transferred to third parties in this process.

Icons / symbols

The symbols/icons used on the website come from the open-source library “Heroicons” and are an integral part of our page code. They are delivered locally; no connection to external servers takes place for this purpose. The same applies to the images and favicons used on the website, which are likewise hosted locally.

7. Google Maps (map section on the contact page)

On our website under Contact we offer a map section of the “Google Maps” service. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Irland. The section shows the location of our law firm (Kaiserstraße 44, 63067 Offenbach am Main).

For data protection reasons, the map is not automatically loaded. Only when you actively click the “Load map” button is the map section integrated and a connection to Google servers established. Before you click, no data is transferred to Google.

If you load the map, Google may process your IP address and, where applicable, further data; a transfer to the USA is possible (based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). You can find out which data Google collects and how it is processed in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de .

The map is loaded on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO and § 25 Abs. 1 TDDDG), which you give by clicking the button. Consent can be revoked at any time for the future.
